Testing may be arranged pursuant to Court Orders or where required for legal proceedings.

Court Compliance
Analysis is undertaken by United States Drug Testing Laboratories (USDTL), an internationally recognised forensic toxicology laboratory accredited to the International Standards ISO/IEC 17025:2005 by a recognised national accreditation body. Testing is conducted in accordance with the Society of Hair Testing (SoHT) guidelines.
Specimens may be collected from head hair, body hair, or nails, and all samples are obtained under strict chain-of-custody procedures. The laboratory is selected based on the type of testing required, the specific substances to be analysed, compliance with international standards, cost, and turnaround time. Test results are court-defensible and routinely relied upon in family law proceedings. Reports include full chain-of-custody documentation and laboratory certification.
Court Ordered Toenail Testing
Brisbane Children's Contact Centre has been specifically named in Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia Orders for the supervised collection of toenail samples.
Toenail testing may be ordered by the Court where longer-term drug and alcohol detection is required and hair testing is unavailable, unsuitable, or additional testing is considered necessary.
The Centre conducts supervised collections under strict chain-of-custody procedures suitable for evidentiary purposes and Family Law proceedings.

Turnaround Time
Once the laboratory receives the specimen, the turnaround time is 1–2 business days for initial screening.If confirmation testing is required, an additional 1–2 business days may apply.This turnaround timeframe applies to all specimen types, including hair and toenail samples.
